  My Story

I read good things about different vitamins and supplements, and figured that within the dosage recommended by my doctor, they'd be good for my general health as well as benefit to my heart.

Multivitamin. I started taking a multivitamin recommended by my doctor every day. I felt healthier just knowing that even if I didn't get every little nutrient that day, I was covered.

Psyllium. Psyllium is a natural fiber (the same fiber used in Metamucil). I repeatedly read studies that showed that psyllium lowers cholesterol when taken every day, so I decided to give it a try. I sprinkled a little bit on my cereal in the morning or stirred it into juice. The Fat-Flush diet recommends stirring it into cranberry juice, which makes a great start to the day.

Soy Protein. Soy protein has been reputed to have great heart benefits, but only if you take it every day. I have a soy protein drink mix that I mix into juice or smoothies.

Vitamin E. Vitamin E is strongly recommended by the "8-week cholesterol cure" book and my doctor also felt that it would help, so I added it to my diet before meals.

I have no relationship with the solutions or businesses I describe and created this site only to inspire others.  If you're interested in trying some of the same solutions I used, please consult your doctor.
