The Complete Fat Flush Program

While the Fat Flush Diet is not targeted as a cholesterol reducing diet, it is low in saturated fats, high in fiber, and I found it easy to follow, and got some great ideas from this book 

This book recommends mixing a little Psyllium (a ground fiber source) in with unsweetened cranberry juice in the morning.  Not only is Psyllium shown to decrease cholesterol, but having it first thing in the morning helped fill me up so that I was less likely to snack.


Another good idea in this book was having a fruit smoothie (with a little soy protein powder mixed in) in the morning.   The smoothie was a refreshing way to start the day and I seemed to stay fuller than I had with a bowl of cereal.

A friend of mine recommended this book -- he had similarly high levels and was able to reduce his numbers back to normal by sticking to this diet.
